Frequency: Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays (to coincide with the artisans markets). Private tour: Cost depends on the number of passengers; tour leaves daily.
Places to Visit: Pisac market and archaeological site, Ollantaytambo archaeological site and the colonial village and market of Chinchero.
In the time of the Inca, this valley was a sacred place. Throughout the day we can appreciate the typical vegetation of the valley surrounded by the
Andes mountains and the snow capped peaks of Chicón and Veronica, among others, as seen on the Chincero – Urubamba route, this day tour is unforgettable.
Tours can also be customized to individual tastes for small groups, selecting the places of interest & the duration of the visit, some suggestions are as follows:
- The archaeological center of the native town of Pisac hosts the artisans market where it is possible to purchase arts and crafts made by the villagers.
- Ollantaytambo, this colonial town is beautifully situated in the Sacred Valley at the foot of the archaeological site.
- Chinchero is the site of an old Church and the Andean market where villagers sell their handicrafts.
- Maras Salinas and the agricultural terraces of Moray are truly unique.
- For the visitor with more time, white water rafting is offered on the rapids of the Vilcanota River in the rainy season.
- Note: For private tours we recommend you select a maximum of 3 or 4 sites to visit per day to allow yourself enough time to enjoy each place.
