Salkantay - Machupicchu 5days/4nights.
A more remote trail offering wonderful views with less traffic than the Inca Trail, this hike allows you to appreciate diverse ecological zones including subtropical and glacial tips. On our expedition we will skirt around one of the highest mountains in the south of the country, SALKANTAY at 6 300m, covered with glaciers, respected and venerated by the inhabitants of this area it is one of the most beautiful. The magic of this mountain is sure to make a lasting impression.
Day 1. - Cusco - Soraypampa - Soyroccocha
An early morning bus ride of approximately 4 hours includes a visit to TARAWASI, an important archaeological city that united MACHUPICCHU and CHOQUEQUIRAW, both important cities of the Andean culture. Breakfast sees us take in a spectacular view of the majestic SALKANTAY, soon after we begin our mild ascent of around 4 to 5 hours (depending on the physical fitness of the group) arriving at our camp site with unimaginable views of the mountains. Day 2. - Soyroccocha - Colpapampa

We ascend slowly for one hour, arriving at the highest point of 4 500m (13 123 feet approx). From here wecan observe the chain of the Andes where you feel as though you could touch the sky, lagoons and with luck, the flight of the condors. After admiring the beauty of this place we will descend to our camp site, today's walk is between 7-8 hours through beautiful landscapes approaching the forest. B/L/D.
Day 3. - Ccollpapampa - Lucmabamba
A long but simple walk within the cloud forest, we can observe the abundant flora and fauna, plantations of fruit, coffee, tea, bamboo, etc. The climate is temperate and humid, the characteristics of semi-tropical zones on our route. We will find towns with customs dating back to the time of the Inca, and then make our camp in the LUCMABAMBA valley. B/L/D
Day 4. - Lucmabamba - Hidrolectrica – Aguas Calientes.
After a refreshing breakfast we ascend for approximately two hours towards LLACTAPATA from where we can appreciate our final destination of MACHUPICCHU, part of the Inca trail the valley borders the Urubamba river where we will descend towards the hydroelectric plant, walking a further 2 hours along the banks of the URUBAMBA river until reaching our camp site of Puente Ruinas (in Aguas Calientes). Day 5. - Machupicchu - Cusco
We take the first bus up the mountain at 6:00am to the city of MACHUPICCHU and we will be some first people to enter the site for the day and get 2-3 hours to explore before the day-trippers arrive. After 3pm we return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Cusco. B
