Choquequirao 5 Days /4 Nights
Located to the northeast of CUSCO between the rivers of APURIMAC and URUBAMBA, Choquekiraw has a fascinating history and landscape surrounded by glaciers and mountains, home to bears, cóndores, tarántulas, etc. This region of cloud forest served as a refuge and fortress of the Inca resistance during the time of the conquest; from here they tried to regain control of TAHUANTINSUYO from the Spanish invaders. The customs and typical clothing of local people reflect a mixture of cultures. Their language and textiles, with Inca and Pre-Inca adornments are clear evidence of the influence of Quechuas, for example CHOQUEQUIRAO has identical architecture to MACHUPICCHU, PISAC, and OLLANTAYATMBO and is located in a strategic zone that was connected with all the important cities.
